OK, so I’ve missed a few posts. I have been obscenely busy with classes this last week. However, I have exercised nearly every day (I did miss two days this week, but it is good to rest once in a while), and I am up to my 17th workout! I have definitely managed to keep the fitness side of my wellness program going, even with class. Hopefully, I can continue my exercise program even when midterms come up. The nutrition part isn’t going quite as well, unfortunately. Calorie-wise, I’m doing alright, but I have hardly been eating any fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds. After all, weight loss isn’t my primary goal; my primary goal is good health. Even if I can lose weight with my current food intake, that doesn’t mean it is healthy. So, I am going to take this long weekend to do the following:
a. continue my fitness regime
b. study until I am way ahead in all five of my classes
c. initiate and maintain a constant sleep schedule (at least 7-1/2 hours per night)
d. break out the cook books and dust off my ice packs
e. try and find 15 minutes for a home facial
Pretty much, I’ll be at the library all day every day this weekend (although it is unfortunately closed on Monday for the holiday). Good thing I have a buddy that is as enthusiastic as me about being a huge nerd and studying all weekend (and exercising and learning to cook)! At this point, my plan is to make the library my new haunt and go there every day. My buddy and I have decided that we should spend at least 3 hours per day studying. So, my daily schedule is something along the lines of: 8 hours for sleep + 3 hours for study + 2 to 8 hours for class + 1 to 3 hours exercise + 3 hours for driving, eating, breathing, etc.
So, I have practically no life. However, I’m surprisingly happy about that. Honestly, after spending over a year sick and depressed and unable to be a huge nerd, I find myself totally thrilled that I can get back into the habit. I mean, I do intend to find some time to eat out, go to a movie, hang out with friends, etc., but my main focus is on my studies and activities related to improving my health. Those are the two most important things for me right now. After all, I am a college student, so education is pretty much my job. Success doesn’t necessarily come easily and it usually takes putting in a huge amount of time, but I am once again ready to face that challenge!
